Perception Is Reality

The Diverse, Pluralistic Face of Islam

Posted on: December 20, 2007

So apparently, we muslims are so divided, that we even have a problem with when we should celebrate Eid. It’s funny how we don’t accept this diverse face of Islam, when the Qur’an itself is written in ways open to umpteen interpretations. Why then, do we not tolerate and respect our brothers? For example, Eid in Houston is being celebrated on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, just because there’s this disagreement. And its a dumb one at that: follow the moon, not what Saudi is doing. That’s the way its supposed to work right? Really upsetting. At this point, please check out this website: Global Center for Pluralism.
